Thursday, November 5, 3:00 – 4:15 pm ET Public transportation advocates and practitioners closely watched the November 3 elections for a number of key reasons. The presidential election and makeup of the United States House of Representatives and Senate and which party will be in the majority is at stake. The final outcome will directly affect the public transportation agenda in the critical years ahead. At the local level, voters have decided several high-profile transit ballot measures and the community investments they will bring. Speakers will report up-to-the-minute information in all areas, key campaign messages, and the specific implications on public transportation

The Transit Initiatives and Communities Conference is the only national conference exclusively devoted to understanding transportation ballot measures and providing concrete advice on how to win.  In 2017, the conference was hosted to Seattle, Washington, a city that enjoys a strong history of local investment in public transportation.

CFTE conducts the biennial Transit Initiatives and Communities Conference to bring together transit agencies, local officials, transportation supporters, advocates, and ballot measure campaign professionals to discuss the latest information on transportation ballot measures. Conference sessions offer insights into recent elections and key trends shaping campaigns. Sessions are interactive and provide extensive case studies. TIC is an excellent opportunity for networking and practical learning.
