As transit tax referendum draws near, Pinellas sets bus ridership record

More people took bus rides in Pinellas County in August than in any other month in its history.

The 1,260,930 boardings represented a 6.1 percent increase over the same month in 2013, according to data from the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority. Those numbers build on a record-setting July, which moved 1,251,695 people, five percent up from the prior year.
