State Ballot Process
Nevada has allowed initiative, referendum and recall procedures since 1912. Once a petition is submitted, the Nevada Division of Elections will forward any signed petition to the State Legislature, which has 40 days from its convening to act on a petition. If there is no action within 40 days, the initiative petition qualifies for the ballot in the next general election.
