State Ballot Process
Mississippi offers the initiative and referendum procedures, but only for amending the state constitution. Ballot measures may be considered during both even and odd years. The number of signatures required to propose a ballot measure must represent at least 12% of the total number of votes cast in the last gubernatorial general election.
